How I got here
I didn’t plan on real estate. I was a financial planner with a stable nine-to-five, and before that I spent about ten years building homes. Annie suggested I help show properties on weekends. In my words, she thought it was better than me binge-watching Netflix alone. I sold my first property solo and was hooked. Honestly, it feels more like fun than work.
Those two earlier careers are the whole reason I work the way I do. The builder years mean I can read a set of plans, walk a house mid-build and tell you what’s normal construction and what’s a real problem. The financial-advisor years mean I look at a purchase as a financial decision: equity, carrying cost, sequencing, and what it does for your family’s future. Not just a house hunt.
What I actually do
- New construction, start to finish. Builder contracts, quick move-in vs. design-studio-ready, structural vs. personal-choice options, and where the incentives are.
- Boots on the ground for out-of-state buyers. Video tours, build walkthroughs, progress videos, and catching problems while you’re still in another state.
- Selling, with a builder’s eye. Professional photography and video, plus builder-grade prep advice on what to fix and what to leave alone.
- Honest “not yet” advice. If renting first is the right answer, I’ll tell you.
The story I get asked about
Early on, a developer hired me to list his project. He was worried my lack of experience would keep me from selling it. I sold the entire project to a builder, then represented that builder on all 38 lots. Thirty-eight listings turned into fifty sales.
Since 2021: 153 closed transactions and $74.8M in volume, with 58 five-star reviews (my own figures, as of August 2026).

Valentine Realty is my brand under Homes of Idaho. My partner in it is Annie Valentine (Idaho Real Estate Broker, License #AB50172), who brings a background in contracting and builder-side new-home sales. Several clients have worked with both of us.
I’m an Idaho native and I live in Meridian. When I’m not working you’ll probably find me on the water. Lake Lowell is a regular.
